The most romantic city in the world is arguably the City of Lights. There are a lot of places to choose from like the Seine circles, the iconic spires of the Eiffel Tower, the Concorde Opera Hotel Paris, the beautiful Louvre Museum and Notre Dame. All of these places are really spectacular.
You can go and rhapsodize about the wonders of the city and the density of its recognizable landmarks that appear to be a direct competition to London’s own. It will really be an exercise if you want to capture the romance and elegance that the city provides from the meanest streets to the grandest monuments.

You can go to the Place de la Concorde if you want to get the best vantage points and appreciate the grandeur of Paris. This place is a product from the mid-18th century. This is an octagonal public square that is surrounded by its own moat. This is the largest city square in France and is famous as being the city’s most prominent monuments. The most exclusive street named the Champs-Elysees is found to its west. The gorgeous Tuileries Gardens sprawl is located to its east. The River Seine and Rue de Rivoli both help form the backdrop of the amazing scenic square which has no doubt inspired the great artist Jacques Ignace Hittorff in crafting his two amazing fountains. One of the fountains represents the rivers and other seas. Two spectacular buildings that house the French Naval Ministry and the Luxury Hotel de Crillon come from the northern end. These are the finest examples of Louis-XV-era architecture.
There is a grand equestrian statue that represents Louis XV had been placed at the center are of the square. It was torn down during the French Revolution by revolutionaries and they re-christened the square named “Place de la Revolution.” They used the base of the statue to behead Louis XV’s grandson who was the reigning monarch. It is hard to believe that this sadistic event happened in this majestic and iconic place. There were other famous names that fell upon the guillotine namely Charlotte Corday, Queen Marie Antoinette, and Princess Elisabeth of France. There were also ring leaders who were beheaded in the likes of Georges Danton and Maximilien Robespierre. There are in fact 1500 heads that rolled during the course of only one month. The guillotine was later removed and replaced with the new name Place de la Concorde.
The centerpiece of the square to date is the Obelix of Luxor. We are saving the best for last. This is a three thousand year old 23-meter high pink granite edifice. This was an early 19th century gift from the Egyptians. The eight statues that are placed at the end of the square counterbalances it and each of the statues represents the large cities of France.
If you want to enjoy the elite surroundings and glamour of Paris, you can try the Le Royal Monceau, Paris France. This is a suitable deluxe Hotel Paris. It adds to the repertoire of elegance and grandeur.
